ABOUT THE AUTHOR: D.L. King sat down at her computer one Friday after Thanksgiving and began work on The Melinoe Project. Even she was surprised by what issued forth from her pervy brain.

A naturalized New Yorker, she can no longer imagine living anywhere else, possibly because nowhere else would have her. She’s a city girl and finds it difficult to sleep without the comforting sound of sirens and car alarms. (Crickets make her uneasy.)

A bucker of tides, when little D.L. King came home from school, in the first grade, she remarked to her mother, “Don’t expect me to be like my sisters, because I won’t be.” Her mother thought it was precocious and cute, for a while. But D.L. was correct in her prediction. Her sisters were good little girls who got straight As and always did what they were supposed to do. D.L. went on to get As in the subjects she liked and fail the subjects she didn’t like. This unorthodox behavior completely vexed her scientist father, especially when she got As in Chemistry and failed math since, as he put it, they were virtually the same. But chemistry was, somehow, a lot more fun…

The first time she asked a lover to tie her up was the last time. He did a shoddy job of it and then decided, with his limited imagination, the situation called for a blow job. It seems she couldn’t relate to being submissive. It wasn’t until she found a lover with whom she could turn the tables that she discovered where her real passions lay.

And that’s why D.L. King has been writing, primarily, stories of female domination since she began to put keystroke to virtual paper. The novel she began writing on that Friday-after-Thanksgiving became a rather hardcore tale of female domination and male submission. It was soon followed by a sequel, The Art of Melinoe, and a plethora of short stories.

Today, D.L. King writes & edits erotica, as well as edits the erotic book review site, Erotica Revealed. Her short stories can be found in various volumes of The Mammoth Book of Best New Erotica, Best Women's Erotica, Best Lesbian Erotica as well as many single title anthologies such as Yes, Ma'am, Yes, Sir, Please, Ma'am, Girl Crazy, Frenzy, Sweet Love, The Cougar Book, Gotta Have It, Sex in the City: New York, Broadly Bound, Fast Girls, and Like a Sacred Desire among others. She is the editor of the Lambda Literary Award finalist collection as well as The Sweetest Kiss, Spank, Carnal Machines and the forthcoming, Daddy's Little Girl.

She's currently at work on a new novel of filth & depravity (Can't wait, can you?) as well as a continuing supply of short stories.
